I have found that parts for Remington guns made pre bankruptcy have become hard to get. They sold all the parts inventory to some outfit in Florida and they don't know what they have in inventory has been my experience.
You can't buy parts for a 20 year old rifle from the current "Remington" company.
I have a 1983 700 ADL .270 that is a fine rifle and I have not had to get any parts but I also have a 1987 1187 shotgun I needed a part for and could not find it.
I bought my son a 7mm-08 Browning when he was in high school and it has killed several deer and still looks and firs like brand new. It is probably 12 o 13 years old now.
