re: Atlanta food and drink recommendations for SEC Championship

I don't understand why Ponce City Market always gets suggested. I understand popping in off the Beltline to grab a beer or a snack but do people actually go there and hang out? Why? The food is just okay..and what else do you do there? Not really a destination type of place in my opinion.

Krog Street is better for that sort of thing with better food and has the Inman Park bars and restaurants close by in walking distance.

Six Feet Under is okay but why go to a seafood place coming in town from Louisiana? The Westside definitely has nice restaurants, but not the most walkable area of Atlanta. You can get a really nice meal, but you aren't going to explore an area and stop in multiple establishments. It's great if that's what you're looking for, but there are better neighborhoods if you are looking to walk around a bit and check out different spots.
