Depends on your situation. Single? Married? Kids? You don’t want to move to the Atlanta suburbs if you’re single.

it would be me and my dog going out there. I am single man in early 20's. Why not move to suburbs? I was looking at Druid Hills area near Emory U. Some condos over there seem nice

For your age range, I'd check out Midtown, Virginia Highlands, Inman Park, Old Fourth Ward (near Beltline), Buckhead, Vinings (near the ball park) and then I guess the area around Emory is nice too, but I'm not usually out that way.

I don't really do OTP (outside the perimeter), but I'm sure others can give you intel there.

Currently live in Atlanta. If I was you who seems to be looking for a condo, I would live near the Beltline. Hop on there with your dog - plenty of bars, food, etc. Highlands, Midtown, Inman Park, Reynoldstown, Cabbagetown, etc.

Druid Hills is different than Decatur (although close geographically). Also your age, no wife, and desire to live in a condo changes things. Nothing wrong with Druid Hills, but if I were young and single and still going to pay inside the perimeter prices, I'd live somewhere more walkable to some nightlife. You would think Druid Hills would have more given its location near a campus and downtown, but its sort of stuck in no mans land between the bars/restaurants of Decatur and Virginia Highlands. At your age, you will be somewhere around the beltline/Ponce City Market all the time. Get a little closer to that, or if doing Druid Hills, live on the far western side of it.
