You blew your chance. The moment you saw it, you should have said. “Karl Marx? Timmy, are you a fricking retard?”

When he reacts with “My names not Tim…” you shout “It doesn’t matter what your name is!” And drop a peoples elbow

Every now and then they reveal themselves.

Trying to be an influence to a kid politically isn't the same thing as trying to impact their sexuality you sick frick.

teach him a sport as well
he actually really enjoyed T-ball and is looking forward to playing again. He likes to play around the house with his wiffle ball and bat he hits that thing up and down the hallway everytime I see him so maybe sports will teach him not to be a raging pussy.

Take him to visit a steel mill. If that doesn't work, take him hunting.

Buy 2 Nerf footballs; one to toss around with him at Thanksgiving and one to keep at your place for future visits. Write his name on the ball.

Give him and any other kids an Advent calendar. The LEGO ones are great but can be expensive. Trader Joe’s has ones with a little chocolate in every day for 99 cents. Explain it to him and get him pumped up about it.

While politics are normally verboten at family gatherings I’d probably have asked “is that Marx”

When he proudly says yes reply

Wow, I didn’t know anyone still believed a word that lunatic had to say

Any tips on how to save the kid without starting a bunch of bullshite?

No. It sounds like this dipshit is purposely trying to cause a reaction/confrontation so he can "defend himself against the evil aggressions of capitalism" or claim victim status because of your "attack" (or do both if you are able to destroy his narrative when he tries to defend).

Your choices are to "start a bunch of bullshite" or ignore it as the child grows up to mirror his douchebag father. You can take advantage of any opportunities which may present itself in order to teach the child differently, but know that his father's influence will likely quickly counter that.

Just because his dad is a worthless commie doesn't mean that the kid will be too. Adolescent rebellion may take the kid in the opposite direction.

have a ton of nieces and nephews. I’ve never tried to change them or point them in a certain direction. That’s up to my siblings on how they raise their children.

I hate to agree with you but this is me too. I stay out of their political beliefs. That’s their parents jobs.

Now, I have one niece that thinks I’m a bit racist but that’s not really political. I also don’t try to discourage her from thinking that.

Liberalism is a bad disease....Your nephew has little chance to be normal, IMO.
