There's no way he had the time to grab the one at the goal line. That was the pylon at the end line. I guess those have cameras as well? I mean why not?
And yes he had credentials so he was doing his job most likely.
ETA: I'm just now seeing the post above with his photo.

In the sky came video, you also see two dudes running with the goalposts pads. At first I thought they were stealing them, but realized it was just an employee.

One pylon for sure got stolen… saw a guy with it at an RV tailgate party after the game….
