Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band…Dec 31/NYE and Jan 1 (2 successive nights) at Richfield Coliseum/Cleveland in 78/79. Young Bruce, young Clarence… playing the best of Born To Run, new material from Darkness and lots of great covers. Each show over 4 hours. All downhill from there for me…

My first concert ever that started it all.
RATT, Britney Fox, KIX, Hirsch Memorial Coliseum, Shreveport in 1989. It was insane & I haven't looked back since.

NRBQ. 1988. Memphis at the New Daisy Theater. They even played their notorious cover of "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald".

Thin Lizzy, Dec.1979 at the VBCC in Huntsville Al.
They were an opener for Bad Company, along with Eddie Money who played first.
They absolutely killed it that night. It took Bad Company a long time to come out. I think they needed to let the mood die down.
I had only heard them a little bit, but after that show, I was a huge Thin Lizzy fan.

It's a list but, with detail...
Modest Mouse - Lonesome Crowded West
Darker times in my life, going to and from bars with very little ambitions other than getting drunk and playing pool. Dabbled with drugs during this time, always stuck to drugs from the earth (except for a few times).
Kanye - Graduation
Beginning of my career, with a new degree in hand. I listened to this album every morning driving to work, at the front lines knowing I would move up. "Did you realize that you are a champion..."
Frightened Rabbit - Midnight Organ Fight
Lost my virginity during the time I first listened to this album. Songs like the Twist and Fast Blood I would listen to while driving back from her townhouse.
Avett Brothers - Emotionalism
Listening to Weight of Lies knowing I must face whatever in me needed to be conquered, leaving my station, so that I must move forward in life.
Beirut - The Rip Tide
"This is the house where I...I feel alone now..."
Got married to a woman that I didn't love, and we were at the beginnings of a divorce.
Sia - This is Acting
Broken Glass and Bird Set Free were on repeat for a little while until the divorce was settled.
Kris Kristopherson - The Silver Tounged Devil and I
Lots of time and songs in between this one and the rest, but Loving Her Was Easier is one I looped as I met my now wife, who was with me in the worst of times, and now the best times in my life.
Man, what would I do without music

I saw them open for Queen a couple years before that. You are correct in how good they are/were then. Still love 'em today

Yes, that Oak Mountain 3 night run was fricking fire. Same for the 3n run in 2000 & 2002 (Mikey's last, just an emotiona roller-coaster during those 3 magical nights - RIP)-
It is really hard for me to pick just one WSP show out of the 300+ I've been to, dating back to my 1st at The Nick in 89. I'll think on it and post mine later.

86 would have been a great time to see them. Although, I think they hit their stride with Document and Green, I really like Fables, and Murmur, Reckoning, etc. I caught a TUBE vid of "I believe" the other day... Later, I was glad to see them drop songs like Bad day, and Superserious...
The They are best when Peter Buck has a strong influence.
