This is a bit odd, ear candling for health benefits. But it's early morning.

I’ve used them a few times before. Kinda fun and gives a weird sensation as the flame draws the aire through your ears.
You want the authentic handmade waxed linen ones.
That said, I don’t think they do much if anything.

First I've heard of this. Interested to hear from people who have done it and why.

Scam. They stick a wax coated paper cone in your ear and light the top. The wax on the paper melts down into the bottom of the cone. Voila! They pull out the cone and show you the wax that “the heat drew out”.
It’s worse than a carnival game.
Don’t pay to have this done. We did it about 20 years ago and I’m still salty about paying $50 for this “new treatment” at a nice spa in Jackson Hole.
Got totally hoodwinked. Learn from my failure.
Plus you will look like a buffoon while the staff laugh at you under their breath.

I was in a car wreck a decade or so ago and got an MRI and something showed up. They dug into my ear and pulled a huge packed piece of ear wax out.
Genuinely felt like it was in the middle of my skull.
Was one of the most intense feelings of relief I’ve felt in my entire life when it was removed.

Dad had ongoing earwax buildup, never understood the deal. He's long gone. Glad to know you had relief. It's a thing. Thanks.

My wife bought one similar to this. Wal Mart $20. I used it a couple times, works pretty damn good and I can actually get wax out of my ear.

It’s completely fake.
It is just as fake if they call it thermal-auricular therapy but it costs twice as much.

I've had it plug my ear a couple of times. Doc said some people will just produce more, and it may kick in at any time.
Going to an ENT with a good water hose and vacuum system (if needed) for removal is the best. They do it all the time so have skillz. My internal medicine guy couldn't offer better than the rubber squeeze bulb and water that is worthless for major blockage.

Debrox is the real life saver for ear wax impaction.

Are people really this clueless about the melting point of earwax or materials in general? I suspect it has a melting point well above 98.6 deg F.

Tried it a couple times years ago... didn't see any results.
best thing I've found for non-impaction, which I'm prone to build up if I don't keep an eye on it, is actually nose spray and one of those trigger pump thingys.
Nose spray seems to work in two ways reducing inflammation and loosing build up.
