On the off chance I am running late for work, I just text my boss and let her know I'm running late. She never asks for an excuse. Over the summer she did call me one time ask why I wasn't at work and I had to remind her I just started my vacation. She apologized and then apologized again when I went back to work a week later.

Had to go save my son from a wildebeest stampede after he was tricked by my a-hole brother to play in the canyon.

This + being an exempt employee is the best. As long as you get all your shite done and make necessary meetings, hours don’t really matter.

I also like to change my tire to a spare the night before. Then when I roll into work late I just tell them I had a flat.

I think I’d rather be on time than change a tire (twice, right?).

Having young kids was one of the greatest ways of getting out of stuff. We used to exagerate the truth to make excuses. Now I realize everyone could call my bluff. Now, its reasons so far off the map they couldnt be made up, have to be true.

Ive been late twice this week because my 6yo lost shoes. Literally had to go to Walmart before dropping off at school. TWICE IN TWO DAYS.

Always use a double excuse... I'm constipated and some fat girl is stalking me.

I'm often 5-10 minutes late, but am able to slip in without being noticed.

Ultimately, I don't feel bad about being a little late since it has 0 effect on my productivity.

Sorry I'm late. I was busy trying to come up with an excuse to call in sick.

You, Shutterspeed, are courteous and respectful. On-timers make the world operate as it should.

My job is a necessity, but it's not time critical. Being time critical sounds almost like shift work. No thanks.

I use sick leave or regular leave if I will be significantly late, or I just work later.

Didn't feel like coming in earlier.

Being self-employed is great.
