TCU is paying him through 2024 season. Reportedly $6M/yr.

He's probably made close to $70M in his career and he hates recruiting and doesn't want to be anywhere that doesn't have a good NIL program.
At Texas an analyst, he can basically do whatever he wants. Nobody is going to frick with him and Sark probably has him running the whole defense so he can focus on the offense and recruting.
As analyst, Patterson literally can't even recruit.
I'm also sure the job is immensely less stressful and he never has to beg anyone for anything at Texas.
