Did anyone hang out in the stadium and listen to the bands battle back and forth?

It went on for over an hour after the game with a mostly empty stadium.

Me and my family did.

It was actually really cool. My kids got to watch and dance. Talk to some fans from both sides until security came and kicked us out.

Seemed like both programs had a lot of respect for each other.

They might as well play and have fun. They weren't going to be able to go anywhere with the traffic disaster

Ya mean did anybody hear LSU’s band get served repeatedly for over an hour after the game?

What an embarrassment.

I stayed a watched for a few min. Was not disappointed. I’ve seen videos of southerns band and was worried their style was overrated or not that great. Couldn’t have been more wrong, they sounded fricking awesome in person.

If you search LSU Band on Facebook, there is a video from someone standing at midfield recording the whole battle.

Did the Scoreboard DJ win the battle after the game too?

TGBFTL is a shell of its former self in the Wickes days. After Roy King’s ouster, a nationwide search was supposed to have been conducted for a director. Instead five years later we are still stuck with this interim whose only previous experience as director was a high school band.

The Human Jukebox wiped the field with them in every area, including the mythical “musicianship” we use as an excuse when we can’t nearly match them in marching or volume.

Only one thing to do. Kedrick Taylor is a Southern alum. No matter. Money talks. Open the checkbook and move him across town to Tiger Band Hall.

Obviously LSU’s traditional fight songs and the Alma Mater don’t change. But if he wants to make tgbftl into more of an HBCU-type band and make the Golden Girls more like the Dancing Dolls, that is fricking fine with me.

TGBFTL is currently a tired act. They need more brass, more volume, and more soul. Kedrick Taylor would provide all of that.

That’s because both bands knew they were gonna sit in traffic for hours anyway.

It’s called the 5th quarter. HBCU bands do this after every game. TGBFTL just stayed & participated. SU was going to do it regardless. SU vs LSU 5th quarter

That was awesome and I love the comments on the YouTube video giving credit to both bands.

They should have been battling all game…
Turn that piped in music down and let 2 first rate bands play music when it’s a full stadium.

Stupid arse over zealous Tiger Stadium security would come and kick people out when the bands are still in the stadium putting on a show

They do. And have for a long time. When I was in TB 20 years ago, I had several friends in Sputherns band that would hang out multiple times a year. The comparisons between the two are mostly fan-driven.

The bands are given a program/itinerary telling them when they can play.

Halftime show

I’m not sure why you linked that. As a former GBFTL member, I watched, as I do nearly all halftime shows, live. That wasn’t the point. The point was that, during the game, the bands can only play during specific times, including when their teams are on offense, specked out for them prior to the game.
