3 weeks ago it was beautiful....

Now large brown patches of dead nothing! And VBW and doveweed taking over.

Oddly, the centipede I have is doing just fine.

Root rot, too much rain and heat, fungus....?

Yep - possibly all of the above? If you can post photos, from distance and close up, ronk is very good at identifying disease and insect issues from good photos.

Centipede is more tolerant, though not immune, than St Augustine to many of the lawn fungal/diseases issues. The constant/frequent rain not allowing lawns to dry is a tinder box for lawn disease issues.

do you have any bug sightings? Moths? Or chewed leaves? Bugs are bad now also.

Could be fungus for sure.

I've got minor fungus and bad bug problems in mine. Put down a granular insecticide about 2 weeks ago that must have been washed away as my bugs are back in a bad way. I'm reapplying this evening.

I've alternated bug stuff, I've alternated fungus stuff, and my St. Aug is still F'ed in some places. The runners die and turn brown. The roots are black. Then the weeds take over.

Metairie area.
