I am APPALLED and EMBARRASSED by our fan base. At WHAT point do we quit being little children and get behind the team we love. This is a NEW coaching staff with TONS of new transfer players. QUIT chasing SABAN! Yes we didn’t win Sunday, but we didn’t quit either! I saw lots of promise and things to be excited about for the future. Last I checked championship programs weren’t built and decided after game 1. Give it some time guys, if not go dawn your Crimson Tide Jersey with the rest of the Bama Bandwagoners. GEAUX TIGERS!

The team didn't look well prepared to win the game. The 3rd down defense was abysmal. The offensive play calling in the 1st half was atrocious. These are all coaching issues that shouldn't be a problem going into the 1st game with that much time to prepare.

Does it mean they can't improve? Of course not. But, when you have a $100M coach, most people expect a better showing than what we got Sunday night and there's nothing wrong with saying that.

Good post, but I'm not sure if the issue is that we're spoiled. A large portion are just idiots and many are just simply unhappy people who just like being negative.

Quit bitching at the fanbase. There was a lot to complain about, starting at blocking and tackling issues with this team - stuff that is usually taught and learned in middle school.

When you don't even see sound base technique football, scheme and star player talent don't even come into the equation. There's work to do and the fanbase -and everyone else - can clearly see it.

Really nothing you can do at this point but laugh and hope for the best. Leaving the game on Sunday was definitely a low point for my LSU fandom. Not going to let it control my happiness any more and certainly will not be spending any more time/money on games. Just accepting that we’re going to suck and be surprised if we surprise a team or two.

I saw what we all kinda expected. My take away, was the play late in the first half when Daniels hit Boutte in the numbers (Boutte) and he wasn’t looking for the ball. There are only two things that would cause that. Hopefully, the team wasn’t “aligned” on that play. That being said, it is a rebuilding year, the last drive was awesome, and Go Tigers!

I know some of the extreme negativity isn’t warranted but these “get behind the team “ posts aren’t really necessary. Most of us are huge LSU fans here .. negative posters too. This is where we come to vent and discuss. We’re not all unicorn piss and rainbows around here. The team looked like shite most of the game and there’s a valid reason why a lot of folks are pissed off or very concerned about things.

How can anyone say this so definitively? Most of the plays were improvised from such poor protection. We don't know what those plays were supposed to look like.

People can still be fans and gripe. That’s what makes college football fun. It’s all part of the experience Clark

Ding ding ding.

In 2000 in his 4th game Saban led us to a home defeat at the hands of mighty UAB. At least 16 players on the roster that night went on to play in the NFL. The talent was there. This fan base started calling out that he wasn't worth the then record $1m/year and saying he wasn't the right guy. He famously labeled us as having "catastrophe syndrome". 22 years later and our fans are at it again after 1 game.

Sunday night through all the mistakes I saw a defense that didn't give up and fold after the last muffed punt and an offense that went 99 yards with the game on the line. The timeouts were used correctly, the QB didn't appear fazed in the moment. The receivers stepped up including the guy that put us in a tough position. They knew to get out of bounds and take extra yards when they could (how about Thomas' catch and run?!). The team didn't fold. Think of the last 17 years of football and all of the confusion and poor clock management in situations like that. Last year we got our asses handed to us in Cali bc we were confused and physically tired. Didn't see that Sunday night. I saw individual mistakes and some schemes that need adjusting. The team didn't fold and I see no reason to believe they will moving forward. We're going to be fine.

You are not wrong but the issue the OP is talking about isn't guys that post that. It's the hyperbolic response that idiots double down on when called on it.

I know you know what I mean because I have seen you call them on it time and again.

The OL was getting their arse kicked and nothing was done to slow it down. It took until into the 2nd half to tryyl going up tempo which is obviously where Daniels is more comfortable. That should have been known from practice and tried earlier IMO.

I’ve found, People who are upset at this result are people who started following LSU in the last 25 years.

This isn’t anywhere close to the bottom. How quickly we forget Curly Hellman. (Ha that’s a typo but I think I’ll leave it)

This team has no depth and they were working in completely new starters all over the field. Not new as a starter, but new to freaking campus 5 months ago starters.

People who thought this was an 8 win team just had incorrect expectations.

We are essentially where saban was when he went to Bama. 7-6 would be a great foundation.

Guys a mcneese transfer stepped in and became the #1 corner.
