Im no expert and I am only going by what I learned from going to some of my nephew's travel ball games, but if we are talking value then I disagree that it isn't expensive.

From what I understand, at least between the team he played on and the teams they played against, it could cost between $1k-$3k (in my nephew's case that covers 10 tournaments).

You can find teams in any range you want, can even find sponsored teams and pretty much every team does a fundraiser or allows sponsors. And 3k isn't much money

I seen one of these idiots pitch a kid the whole game. It was a game it didn't matter if they one. He pitched a kid that only pitched a few times, the whole game. Late in the game the kid was almost in tears grabbing his shoulder

Doubt it, but if so the coach is a stupid frick and so are the parents for not pulling him. The organizations have pitch counts for a reason to stop that shite.

So when you consider what you pay and who will coach your kid, the only reason a lot of parents pay to have their kid on a travel team is because since they only have 10 or 11 kids on the team, which is just enough to cover for one or two of the kids that can't make it to certain tournaments because they have something else that weekend, that assures their kid will be able to play. Because everyone has to have a pitcher to post on social media of their kid at bat or standing out in right field waiting for the rare occasion they get to field the ball.

Bro sorry to tell you but close to half the balls are hit to outfield in tournament ball.

Nobody gives a frick about winning a ring, despite what you think. It's about development

quote:

And who cares if the kid would rather be with his friends who invited him to go swimming or to the camp or to top golf.. You need certain facebook followers to think your kid is some type of baseball superstar because travel ball isn't how your kid gets a scholarship or to the MLBs.

Nobody cares jd a kid would rather be with friends. See this is the problem, you think travel ball parents are like that. You don't even have kids in it but think you know everything, you don't know shite.

Like a parent says yea can't go to the movies with friends...dumbass take. And sure plenty of kids quit travel ball but it's a smaller percentage than those that quit little league and most kids quit playing ball by 12 anyways if they aren't interested in hs ball.

As far as travel ball and scholarships...
Scholarships aren't the goal u less the kid specifically wants that but the big showcases in high school absolutely are the easiest way to eb seen by dozens of schools and get on the radar of like pbr etc. From there it's up to the kid, his ability, his character, his grades etc

And yall say that shite about the scholarships and mlb but every player lsu recrited...played travel and did showcases...every mlb draft pick, played travel and did showcases or was part of an mlb academy somewhere.

It's not 1992 anymore where you play little league and you go on the hs. Sorry it's just not.

Same with weight training and data driven analytics at younger and younger ages.

Sorry if you are poor and can't afford to keep up.

sorry your kid has no interest in sports, nothing wrong with that, but critize the kids that do like sports. Most of them keep up great grades as many coaches require it, most play other sports, they still hunt and fish, they still go to top golf, still ride bikes, still go swim parties etc

Reading these comments makes me think a lot of these travel ball trolls have never actually been to travel ball games. 95 percent of the parents act nothing like this. Sometimes families do get caught up in the moment and act a fool but that could be said with pretty much anything people do in life. I’ve seen lots of adults make a fool of themselves tailgating what’s the difference.
