My kids will go to private school and have anything they want. Playing sports is good. Obsessing over it to the point it dominates your family's life is a little ridiculous. Especially at the age you're talking about.

So do mine and it's not obsessing playing 10 or so weekends a year.

Travel ball in my day was reserved for high school kids. Not a bunch of 7/8 year olds. That's a bit absurd IMO.

It might be, but that's just the way it is. I know where you live the rec league sucks complete arse and if you want your kid to play remotely competitive then you are going to have to do some travel.

I shared all them same thoughts mainly cause of the shite I read on here. I thought it qas every weekend, all over the country, mainly poor white trash, people thinking their kid was going pro, parents living through their kids etc.....I was wrong, just like you are.

haven't had to make those decisions yet, but my kids can do whatever they want. Travel ball though won't be part of the equation though, especially not at that age.

So if your kid is good in tball and one of or the best on all stars, same at 7 but when he goes to camps you see him getting passed up, you aren't gonna allow him to go play tournament ball even if he ask?
