I'm not denying it, I saw it in the late 1980s. But, I am saying that there aren't mandatory classes in every SEC school as was suggested in the post to which I responded.

Imagine being this upset at the world around you. Miserable people. Where do they want to live? Essentially the entire world has been colonized by some society at some point.

They think there was an agreed upon name for North America called "Turtle Island"?

Across the whole continent?

That was my initial response, too. That sounds utterly stupid and the sort of generalization a colonizer would say

New prog fad. They announce the indigenous inhabitants and that the land was "stolen."

Its as pathetic as it sounds.

n a typo-filled section of the template, the McCombs School of Business suggests every professor include an apology to Native Americans in their syllabus, acknowledging that they are “meeting on the Indigenous lands of Turtle Island, the ancestral name for what is now North America.”

Only the most pretentious a-hole nerd would use the term Turtle island. I will not apologize for being born here..

I will not apologize for people getting booted from land they themselves claim they don’t own in spirit

I will not apologize for men taking land in the same fashion they did

I will not apologize for colonizers claiming land because they were smarter and more advanced

If you are in possession of “stolen” property are you somehow exonerated simply by way of announcing that fact and moving on?

The entire "indigenous land" argument is logically incomprehensible. You have to suspend disbelief and make so many assumptions it's basically fantasy land. Basically the ad hoc fallacy with a ton of hindsight bias to create a texas sharpshooter's fallacy so that they can define the acts of Western Europeans as idiosyncratic in history. It's the same thing with how they define "slavery", so that we pretend that slavery by these now-marginalized groups throughout history was somehow different.

The new Confederate States of Turtle Island doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, but I'll take it.

This is completely and totally normal on elite college campuses all over this country.

China has all but won the American culture war, which means they have all but taken over this country.

Once the boomers and gen x'ers are no longer in sufficient numbers to matter, these students and countless millions like them will be running the show.

It's not an accident that the well spring for all this shite is elite academics. This is where the wealthy and influential educate their children. American culture trickles down from the elite in this country.

This is the future and most of us will be alive to see the transformation.

My main point is that there was no scenario imaginable that wouldn’t have had the same, or worse, outcome for the natives.

No low-evolution indigenous people have ever had a positive outcome when met with modern invaders. And it’s happened on every continent. Most just happened so long ago no one cares.

How many countries are currently ruled by their original inhabitants?

And had the Europeans never came, do they think the New World would’ve remained a pastoral paradise?

When the Chinese or Russians eventually found it, what then?

I personally think we’ve been too good to the natives and should not have appeased them. The whole concept of reservations and Indian nations is gross.
