No clue but I’d be willing to bet her version of things are extremely embellished if it did happen.
Probably, but rape is rape. That part either happened or it didn’t.

Sorry, this story really upsets me. It's pretty horrible. And I am having trouble accepting the fact people would be so quick to act like this is made up and could have never happened in lovely New Orleans... in the French Quarter of all places. The violent crime in New Orleans (and Louisiana) is one of the main reasons I moved.
My favorite part is that a large group of tourists stood by and watched a dude rape an unconscious woman. The first coverage of this story didn't mention anything about any of them rendering aide to the woman. It just said they basically shrugged their shoulders and walked away from the scene.
The original coverage of this story mentioned the woman's name and told what state she was from. Now, she fears retribution and wants anonymity.
That is, of course, if this is the same story about police turning a blind eye to the rape of an unconscious woman and that rape being reported by a woman.
I also like that she almost immediately went to Twitter with the story. Again, if these are the same cases.

What exactly do you mean when it’s your “favorite part” and you “like that”?

A liberal white woman called the cops and said there was a rape. It must be true
What makes you think she's a liberal?

When seconds matter, the cops are minutes away.

This thread is fake news
It does not surprise me one bit that you of all people are denying this happened in New Orleans

I find it humorous and a bit hypocritical that a "large group" left a bar, saw a guy raping an unconscious woman, and ultimately chose to do frick all to stop it. I find it even funnier (in an I can't believe the shite sort of way) that they are now raising hell about the police not doing anything when they could have stopped it.
By all means, all of you in that group, stand there and watch a woman get raped, but don't you dare inconvenience yourselves by trying to help the unconscious woman. Best to take clear mental notes so you can tweet about it later.

Agreed that someone should have stepped in and tried to stop this rape. We don’t really know what the circumstances were though.
What we know is that a woman called 9/11 to report it happening and the dispatcher asked her to prompt the policeman nearby who didn’t respond. It’s the cops job to respond.
When citizens lose confidence in those who’s job it is to protect them, civilization unravels
That’s what we’re seeing in New Orleans
I pay taxes to get that protection.
Bystanders should not even need to be in a position to stop something like a rape.

I read where New Orleans has seen +100 cops leave the force in less than 60 days. It's so bad that the Mayor canceled a planned international trip in order to stay home and address the issue. Yet people want to point fingers at bystanders for not taking matters into their own hands while a NO cop in close vicinity of the incident sits on his arse wouldn't do his job.

No, she cancelled the trip because reporters started asking questions and she used that as an excuse

Public Integrity Bureau Investigation has been closed.
The person the woman reported the rape to, wasn't an NOPD officer. It was an off duty deputy constable that she spoke with prior to calling 911.
1st NOPD officer was on the scene within 180 seconds of her 911 call.
