I'm simply stating the truth. We are all less safe if we are forced to wait for people to commit felonies before we confront them.

The truth is unpopular to those who want specific results for political reasons only.

They could have confronted AA in a legal manner.
They chose not to.

Based on what others in this thread have stated, there was no legal manner for them to confront him in Georgia. If they can't place him under arrest, then it doesn't matter how they do it. It's still illegal.
Additionally, one of them had previously tried to confront him while unarmed, and he called 911 and ran away because he thought Arbery was pulling a gun on him.

You're interpersonal skills are so bad you're only method for confronting someone is armed detention?

I mean, you are literally the only person in this thread who has admitted to believing something that was completely made up regarding this story.

Imjustafatkid is probably a fan of the concept of sundown towns.

They wouldn't have gotten life in prison. They might not have even made it to trial for murder.
LINK
ETA: To be fair, the situation in my linked article is far, far worse than what happened here.

The only way they were going to get him to stop and talk to them was to force him to stop.

Google “was Ahmaud Arbery jogging” and see what happens.
Every link from every top media outlet and Wikipedia says …. “murdered while out for a jog” or calls him a jogger.
Show me the fricking evidence he was out for a jog

WHAT?!
If your opinion is "people should be able to hold other people at gunpoint if they think they might've committed a crime and can shoot them if they defend themselves" then you're not worth discussing this with. It's an absurd take.

Who or what determines if someone doesn't belong.
I just saw someone I haven't seen before in my neighborhood. Should I grab my gun to perform a citizen's arrest?

Like when Lori Lightfoot issued a 6pm curfew in Chicago this year?
Honestly don't know what a sundown town is supposed to be. That's just the first thing that came to mind.

Have you previously witnessed them commit a crime and attempted to confront them about it previously? Because those would be the facts of this case.

If you're already convicted of life. Why exec go to court and put on a suit? I would have to be strapped up like Hannibal lector. I'm already here for life. What you going to do?
