The sad thing about this whole Griner fiasco is that Paul Whelan, the other American being held prisoner in Russia, has been there for 2 years or so with no urgency from the U.S. government to get him out, apparently.
Along comes Griner, with her banned substances in Russia, and she gets caught and incarcerated. She's a black lesbian who plays basketball in the WNBA with a wife who calls out the Biden folks for not doing enough to get Griner freed.
The left-leaning, woke mainstream media jumps on the bandwagon and suddenly, a deal is being offered for the release of both, Griner and Whelan.
Whelan is only part of the deal because, could you imagine the outrage if Griner was freed and not him?
I want to see both freed but so sad that one has been there for 2 years while the other has been there for around 5 months.

Paul Whelan and Britney Griner are right where they belong. No deals should be made for either one.
It is not unjust for a criminal to serve an appropriate sentence for their crime, even if it is not in the comfort of a posh US prison.
