REELZ channel recently aired pretty good docs on Def Leppard and Vince Neil.

The DL one used mainly old clips and people around the band to do the talking, but the Vince one was mainly current footage of him telling the story.

Wouldn't mind seeing Poison, but the ticket prices for the Houston show are laughable. Over $100 starting prices, before fees, for the cheapest seats.

Had 8th row seats to Charlotte show in 2020, but, COVID.

Couldn’t swing it two years later.

Watched it in Nashville. Joan Jett was good. Poison didn't play. Def Leppard was great. Motley Crue was terrible, well Vince Neil was terrible, we left after 3rd song.

Here's a review from their show at Wrigley on 7/8

I wasn’t willing to pay to go in but we were on the rooftop beer garden at sports corner across the street. I had heard that Motley Crue struggles, but Def Leppard did sound good.

And they all 3 played every hit they had.

Probably fair to say they’re at the “just play the hits” stage of their careers.

Drove up to Cincinnati last week and saw them .
Wife & I enjoyed every minute of it.
I wasn't expecting 25 year old Vince Neil voice, I was expecting a great show and that's what I got.

Saw it this week - it was great overall. Missed Joan Jett. Out of all the band members, only Vince Neil is a fat arse not taking it seriously. Poison and Def Leppard are just consummate professionals - in shape, taking care of themselves and taking putting on a good show seriously.

Poison's setlist was a little lacking - they didn't play any of the ballads outside of Thorn and they wasted time with those solos. Still, Talk Dirty was a real highlight overall.

I thought Mick Mars was the best part of Crue - despite the fact that he's 71 and looks like death (that fricker was old even in their heyday).

Joe Elliott has maybe lost a slight bit, but it's made up for by the overall stunning level of vocal talent in the band. They sounded great and they played almost everything you'd want them to.

Overall, a great way to end the summer and the crowds really were just there having a good time. No menace in the air at all - just Nothing' But a Good Time. All of these guys have the last laugh after all the shite that's been heaped on them over the years. It's 2022, and they're playing to 50K people a night. frick THE HATERS

I ran across a youtube DL concert a couple years ago when Joe lost his voice. I think it was on some cruise deal. Anway Viv sang a song or 2 and Phil sang a couple and I swear you wouldn't miss Joe at all. They were excellent. Viv's singer in Last in Line, Andrew Freeman, did most of the lead vox.

Big Scub, I saw the show in Arlington last week. Your review is pretty spot on and I wouldn't change much from it at all.

With Nikki's songs and Mick on guitar, literally any random, competent drummer and singer could have made the Crue formula work.
