I laughed at the part where he asked Matt Mauck for help when they were roommates when he got to campus. Matt told him "you have a playbook. You'll figure it out."

Jamarcus had games where he'd absolutely frustrate you and then in the very same game would make amazing plays. 2006 Tennessee and Ole Miss both come to mind. Hell, that Tennessee game he came right out at halftime and threw a duck pick I believe on the first play. But then the comeback happened and all was forgiven Same with 2005 Arizona State, though that comeback was aided by some awesome special teams plays but that final 4th down pass to the endzone from midfield was one of the most beautiful passes I've ever seen.
The only real game I can remember where Russell shat the bed from start to finish with no real highlights to go with it was 2006 Florida. And I guess the 05 SEC CG against UGA but they played an entire season without a bye week and he got hurt midway (though he admittedly wasn't playing well to that point). 2006 Auburn I don't like to put much blame on him, that was a Les Miles being too conservative loss. When we started opening it up more towards the end the offense looked pretty good, and picking up the PI flag was absurd. Can't really blame Russell for that one aside from throwing short of the endzone on a play where it was TD or lose.

Jamarcus was one of the best Qb’s we’ve ever had. He would have done well in the NFL but for the purple drank

Didn’t mauck leave before Jamarcus arrived?
Did he mean Flynn

Jamarcus has to be accountable for his part in his NFL career. That said, I knew when he was drafted that Raiders squad was probably the worst situation he could have been drafted into. He needed mentorship and that was not going to happen there.

J-Rock was a great quarterback for us and should be celebrated as the great tiger he is. Led a lot of come from behind drives to win games.

Listening to him talk, there’s no way he was able to complete college classes.

Listened to most of it, it is not a bad listen. Also, if you don't think that Jamarcus is one of the best LSU QB's ever, you are fricking crazy

I've seen every LSU QB since Bert Jones and I would rate Burreaux #1 & Jamarcus and Jones 2a and 2b. When Jones was playing he split time with Pat or Paul Lyons (Jones #2 overall pick in the NFL draft splitting time?) Crazy... but he wasn't nor was the game back then, a passing game. I'd love to see what Bert could do in today's college game. He'd light it up. All three were/are great players. God bless all three and a special prayer for Jamarcus.
