According to CBS nightly news police had contact with Crimo twice.

Once in April 2019 for a suicide attempt.

The 2nd time in Sept 2019 when he said he was going to "kill everyone."

Police removed 16 knives, a dagger, and a sword, but said there was not probable cause to arrest him.

Looks like the police dropped the ball again

Did he break any laws? Why’d they take his shite? What can they legally do if he didnt break laws? Need mental institutions.

OK, we have a red flag law now for this so we don't need to pass anything new.

Or as they call it in Chicago, a starter kit.

If he didn’t break a law, and you’re good with them taking his knives then you’re a fan of Red Flag laws. I get he was crazy but what law was broken to keep him from owning a gun? If it’s the words he said…that’s not enough for me!

I'm no Rocket Scientist but I'd think those "red flag" laws should apply here

What felony did he commit in 2019?
A suicide attempt is not considered a mental illness. So how did the police drop the ball?

Not really. Should they arrest everyone else who says things like that? A non specific threat. Tens of thousands would be arrested in that case.

Anyone know how he acquired the rifles? I’m sure it’s been discussed ad nauseam but I haven’t seen anything on it. TIA

Nope. The police did all they could. They couldn't put him on a no guns list because you 2A zealots think that someone who owns 16 knives, a sword, a dagger, who is suicidal and also expresses their desire to kill everyone shouldn't be denied access to semi-auto rifles.

This is on YOU.

In your view what should the police have done…and within the scope of what they are able to practically do?

What would we all have cops do in response to suicide attempts and how long should these things be done ? I don’t think we need to be training cops to keep tabs on suicidal people.

If cops had a nickel for every time some fricker made this claim… Again, what’s the response we were expecting ? How did they drop the ball here?

Liberals would have you believe that if the cops interviewed the gun instead of Crimo himself, this would have prevented. After all, they think guns kill people.
