Some of the biggest, oldest homes in the city with older people or young families. An important historical home in across the street and a famous person's house on the corner. But just a small walk to some super sketchy parts of town. I know, methies dance, walk, and scream at 2 in the morning on my street all the time.

The immediate neighborhood is pretty diverse. We have blacks, whites, and asians. We have hispanics cutting lawns. Everyone has jobs, except for those who are retired and the neighborhood is neat and clean. It's an upper middle class subdivision in a good school district that is turning over. Everyone came here for the schools. Some have kids in them, others have kids who were in them, but haven't moved away yet. The county is now purple, though it used to be solid red. The main thing for me is that if I am sitting on my deck, I can't see another house, only trees and woods.

When we moved in, we were pleasantly surprised because it felt like a neighborhood felt back in the 1980's. All families sitting outside in each other's yard socializing and paying attention to the comings/goings of the hood.

Same here. We have a neighborhood game night every month that shifts from house to house. Nice mix of young/old. Little diversity. Great place for kids.

Newer neighborhood. Has large houses, small houses, rental houses, and town houses. We've got a little bit of everything here. Young families, old couples. White folks. Black folks. Brown folks. Everyone seems to get along pretty well actually. Property values here are out of control, bought in a highly desirable part of Lexington that is exploding with growth. Been here 5, probably stay another 5 or 10 and move somewhere more out in the country.

I live in the Town of Carefree, Arizona.

Neighbors are mostly full time residents, as opposed to snow birds, white, fairly affluent. Things have changed a lot since we bought when the market bottomed in 2008. Real Estate prices are now outrageous.

Carefree is a “dark sky” community, and one of last places you can buy homes on 1+ acre lots. Lots of native desert and wildlife.

Most people are transplants from someplace else, but generally friendly and willing to help. Mostly retired. Lots of dogs. Very active, walkers, bikers, golfers, etc.

It’s also home to the first desert links course, Desert Forest Golf Course.

Carefree is “The best small town in Arizona”.

Wonderful place to live. Blessed to live on a golf course ( petty but was always a dream of mine)surround by nice neighbors some older mid 60’s just retired.
Others in my demographic with kids. Late 30’s early 40’s mix of some doctors, lawyers, business owners , executives
We consider ourselves to be on the lower end of income for our neighborhood, the wife and I are in none of the above profession, we don’t do OT well but we’ve made a nice life for ourselves,
And plan to be where we are till retirement

I think you won the thread. Are there any houses for sale in your neighborhood?

Typical starter home subdivision. Either young families in their first home or old people who recently downsized. Not a lot in between.

Same here. I only chose the house because it was at the end of a road facing a pond and woods behind it. Only have 1 neighbor beside us. We get a lot of people walking the pond. Kids that run around and leave trash by and in the water.

Due to it being a lot of first home owners you get inconsistent lawn & landscape maintenance. Some take great pride in their home. Some absolutely do not. It’s dumb that the HOA gets in peoples asses about trash cans being visible but do not say anything about people not taking care of their landscaping and lawns.

I love my neighbors. Basically your typical suburb, upper middle class neighborhood. Mostly white, but next door neighbors are from China, a few houses down are from Russia and a few houses from there they are from India.

We have neighborhood parties, everyone chats while walking dogs, they tried to even start a neighborhood kickball thing, but the guy organizing forgot I think.

Our neighbor girls always invite (well my son invites himself) to come jump on their trampoline with him. They dog sit for us, and are taking babysitting classes so they can be our babysitters.

I never want to leave this neighborhood.

The trailer park gets pretty wild on payday….
Other than that, it’s not too bad.

I live in a very rural area. I've got neighboring properties with $1mm homes and I've got neighboring property owners that live in old mobile homes. I'd say the smallest/cheapest home around me is a guy we call "the chicken man" (because he sells free range chickens for income) who lives in a shack down by the river.

I get along with all my neighbors, but I find the poorer of the neighbors are often the best, most giving, neighbors. Anytime I want to hang out with a neighbor, I usually go down to the river and hang with chicken man and a couple of his neighbors who would be considered very poor by OT standards. If I ever need emergency help, the few wealthy people with neighboring properties would probably be the last people I would call.

Out in the country. A few singlewides, but mostly farms or subdivisions with 5+ acre lots. A mix of folks from families who've been here for centuries and newcomers escaping..some from west Knoxville others like us from cities on the downswing.
Diversity: a black neighborhood about six miles away and several lesbian couples scattered around.
Very protective of near neighbors.

Most theft happens when outsiders come in to work on the farms, etc. and see things and come back for them. Most are caught. No murders in the 25 years we've been here.

I would be really surprised if any home within ten miles of us wasn't well armed with a variety of diverse armaments.
