My girlfriend and I are thinking about going to the arkansas game this year - it would be our first away game. Just wanted to hear some of yalls past experiences and if this is a decent away game to go to.

WMS is a dump.

I would pick a better game to experience.

we go to all the War Memorial games being only a 3 hour drive from home...never had any issues dealing with arky fans...even after the 2002 game, i got a little hell after the game but nothing bad...and yah the stadium is a fricking dump that's for sure

Watch "Deliverance" again before you go

Erector set stadium, tailgating occurs "on" the golf course outside the stadium. Plenty of LSU fans at Little Rock. The arkys are pumped up before the game and if it stays close. You will probably get some nasty drunk comments after the game

The stadium is a shitter, and post-game traffic is the worst.

ETA: i'll be there, staying at a hotel across the street so there's no need to drive.

The stadium is a dump beyond dumps, but that place gets pretty damn loud for only holding 55 K. Everyone is basically on top of each other.

The fans of LR are quite a different breed than those of Fayetteville. It's the equivalent to having 2 LSU home games in Monroe or Shreveport. Many of the LR Hog fans aren't alumns...of anywhere, for that matter, and will come across as some very ignorant white trash. That's not a lie.

I go to this game every 2 years and do not count it as a "road game", being that it's not that far...but I live in BR again and it's all of a sudden far again. Plus, it's not a real SEC atmosphere...more like a mid-major bowl game. I wouldn't, if I were you, pick this as my only road game...but still, I'd say go. I'm goung for my 3rd straight, having fortunately missed 2002.

The parking is a Chinese fire drill. There's no order to it and it's all along this golf course. Everyone just kind of has to break loose to get out. My advice...don't be in a hurry. The Hog fans, as I mentioned, are trashy....well, they get double that when they've been drinking, they lose, and then you cut one of them off. be careful. If they try to start a fight with you, just look to the right of them and point and shout, "Look! It's Jeff Foxworthy!!" That will buy you 10 seconds as you run away or get into your car and lock the doors.

Overall, it's worth the trip...it really was worth it in 2006, as we paid 200 bucks a piece for tickets. This year, they have nothing to lose against us, much like '04, but they could very well be playing for a 6th win and a bowl bid. They're a lot better than they were a month ago and they should have beaten UK.

You didn't think, the atmosphere was good in '06?
That place was packed, weather was great, tickets were extremely hard to come by, both crowds were into it, and it was an exciting game.
If both teams are having good years, it's a good game to go to.
They've actually made improvements to the stadium over the last 6 years. It used to be very bad. No bad seats in the place.
I think it's a good trip. There's not much traffic on the road Thanksgiving Day. The game is over early enough that fans can be back in BTR by 10-11 p.m.
It's a good trip.

One positive is that you can go in and out of the stadium with a ticket stub adn they do not make you throw out your drink.

War Memorial is a dump, but I'll still be going. Even though the stadium was bad, the atmosphere was pretty good. But I don't know if the atmosphere will be as good considering the slump Arkansas is in. I did run into a few problems with fans getting in my face in '06, but again, probably won't be a factor this year considering the slump Arkansas is in.
