Post your number 1 realistic draft pick at 8, and at trade back spots. Who is your guy?

8. Dyson Daniels - I just think he's a perfect fit to develop on this team. Excellent passer and ball handler, excellent defensive potential, good size, position versatility, can't shoot yet. He can be a "connector", and be a Lonzo Ball type with more upside, no injury history, and no massive hype and baggage.
9-12. Ousamane Dieng - I think most are going to say Sochan here and that's fine, I really like Sochan as well. I have just really been intrigued by Dieng and his upside. Long as heck, unlimited potential. Can't shoot either, and struggled at times against inferior competition, but if he hits, we are winning championships. I think he's going to go higher than many expect.
13-17. Malaki Branham - I am totally perplexed why I see him consistently going in the teens. I think he's a better player than that, and one of the most likely guys going in that range to be good early (and there are 2 of those guys every year). He can score from all 3 levels. His midrange is extremely good, and his set 3 is almost as good. Average size, decent defensive upside. Still really young. Not a creator and has tunnel vision with the ball, but that's ok for a bench player. I really like him to be honest.
Who are your "guys" at these levels of the draft? 8, 9-12, 13-17 (ish).

8. Daniels or Sharpe
9-12. Mathurin, AJG, Dieng
13-17. Jalen Williams. I love this kid and would be ok with trading back if we get another late 1st round pick and land him and maybe Jovic.

8. Benedict Mathurin. My favorite thing about him is that he’s competitive and plays with fire (very obvious if you watch Arizona) and I have a lot of confidence he will turn into a good defender with his size and athleticism. Dyson Daniels is right there at this spot also, for all the things Bunch said
9-12. Dyson or Davis. Both great defenders. Davis gives you some extra shot creation at the guard spot.
13-17. Sochan. Dude is a beast on defense and he shot 37% from catch and shoot 3 pointers. He seems like he could also play some small ball 5.

I think you are one segment too late for each of your picks

8 - whoever is left of Daniels, Sharpe, Mathurin
9-12 - Sochan
13+ - BPA. By that point, there is enough drift in who will be available that it is hard to really game plan for a pick.

Daniels and Sharpe are my tier 1
Dieng and Sochan next
Mathurin and Agbaji after that. And Duren I guess

I started out real high on Mathurin but with the draft being less than a week away I’m now on the Shaedon Sharpe train.
I’m not as high on Dyson Daniels as much as this board seems to be.
I’m not as down on AJ Griffin as much as this board seems to be.
I wouldn’t trade back in this draft!!!
We take the best available player at 8 and hope they vibe with Birmingham in year one.

With Griffin, it comes down to whether our medical team examined him and gave him a clear bill of health.
He kept Nash in one piece in Phoenix and then did a better job keeping Lonzo on the court than LA or Chicago did.
If he is confident that there are no long term problem, I’ll take the risk.
I’m just gunshy on injuries to say the least given the team’s history pre-Griff.

Mathurin: Because he is really Ant Edwards Lite (Pistons prob gonna get him tho )
I aint trading back because the NBA Gods gifted us with Lakers dumbassery and im not doing anything to frick that up.

8. Sharpe or Mathurin
9-12. Johnny Davis. I trust his mid range and free throw percentage enough to believe he’ll become an effective shooter in the league. With him no longer being the lone option for offense on his team, I suspect his defensive and shooting levels to rise. And he’s a Dog.
13-17
Either Williams

Pretty much agree with you if we have to pick one player for all three ranges.

I'm with you on both Dieng and Branham there, and have Daniels as my second option at #8 behind Sharpe, barely.

8. Davis- most complete backcourt player in the draft. Team leader and will only get better. I'm all in on Davis.
9-12. Agbaji- fits our profile and fills a need (3&D).
13-17. Branham- everything you said.
I want a SG (just not Sharpe)..

We aren’t drafting Mark Williams with our lotto pick so that’s pretty much disqualified.
8: whoever is left of Daniels, Mathurin, Sharpe
9-13: 100% seems like our board would be Sochan, Duren, Dieng, Davis, Griffin. I’m cool with any of those guys depending on what we get for the trade back.
