I learned long ago not to count on people like that for ski trips. Every fall when we start trying to plan we have a big group… then by the time to make decisions it’s me, my wife, and another couple.

Yeah, I talked to the wife this morning and that's just what we're going to do. We will book a one bedroom for us and if they decide to go, Ill help them find something close but I don't want to keep missing out on good condos (or having to spend thousands more) and stuff because they're dragging their feet.

We just usually plan to go by ourselves, now. Most of our friends know that we're going every year.
So, if they decide to go, they just tell us where and we join them.
When we say we are in, we are in.

Part of the reason why I mostly go on solo trips now, just not worth the struggle. I just do what I want, if somebody wants to join me great and if not I can have fun on my own. I have done some trips that I know a group would never have gone for, places like Crystal Mountain where the lodging is super basic but I didn't care because there was a foot of powder.
