I would say 8&forfiet is a better candidate for tier two

LSU-Auburn wasn’t an annual game until 1992. It’s been a good series, but it’s OK if it drops to every other year
Yeah. If I’m not mistaken, before expansion and divisions we didn’t play AU all that often as far as SEC opponents go. I think prior to that we played aTm way more often than AU.

Disagree. In some ways I'm surrounded by Alabama fans and they care about the LSU game way more than they would actually admit. Even though they lead the series comfortably, they're super tense going into that game every year.
2007-2012 were all great games, many of which decided the SEC and some of which decided the national championship picture. Les Miles wrecked the LSU program in 2013 but the Tigers still should have won in 2014. 2015-2018 were admittedly one sided. Then you had 2019, then Covid and opt outs. Last year was close. I'll take that game over the last 15 years over some flash in the pan auburn or A&M game.

We lost to MIZZ TWICE? Was one loss before they joined the league?

The latest buzz is that the bottom half wants to stay at 8 games
Would make sense for bowl eligibility

Alabama and Florida and possibly Georgia want to go to 9 games.
Alabama probably. They don't have any permanent neutral site games or permanent out of conference obligations. Florida and Georgia are in the opposite situation. It would be very surprising if they wanted 9 conference games especially because of what that would do to their home ticket packages

If we could get Aggie and Florida as our top 8 that would be great since we own them both.

The 8 haves and 8 have nots just doesn't work, imo.
Programs like Tennessee, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Texas, or even Arkansas could be in either group, IMO. The SEC just does not break into these two groups easily.
We need 2, 8-team divisions and 9 SEC games per year.

Second favorite
LSU barely has a first favorite with most fans leaving by halftime in a Bama game anyway.

Alabama probably.
If the SEC goes to the 6-3 model, Alabama will NOT be paired with LSU.
Any discussion of a 6-3 schedule will begin with Alabama: Tennessee, Auburn, State.
So, start from there.

Really it is the big 6 and little 8 in the sec.
The big 6 have sec titles the little 8 don’t. I’ll assume Texas and OU have a good shot at joining the b6

It's not easy trying to get matchups that make sense while trying to maintain the guidelines of each pimp getting a bitch and two other pimps, but here goes (pimps are in Bold):
ALABAMA - Auburn, Tennessee, State
ARKANSAS - Oklahoma, Missouri, A&M
AUBURN - Alabama, Georgia, Missouri
FLORIDA - Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky
GEORGIA - Auburn, Florida, S. Carolina
KENTUCKY - Florida, Vanderbilt, Missouri
LSU - Oklahoma, Texas, Mississippi
MISSISSIPPI - LSU, State, A&M
STATE - Alabama, Mississippi, S. Carolina
MISSOURI - Auburn, Arkansas, Kentucky
OKLAHOMA - Texas, LSU, Arkansas
S. CAROLINA - Georgia, Vanderbilt, State
TENNESSEE - Alabama, Florida, Vanderbilt
TEXAS - LSU, Oklahoma, A&M
A&M - Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi
VANDERBILT - Tennessee, Kentucky, S. Carolina

By any reasonable measure, Tennessee is no longer a top program in the SEC.
If anything, the argument is between Texas and Tennessee as to which belongs in the bottom 8. Texas has been quite ordinary since the 80s, with the exception of the Mack Brown heyday.
