Jon Favreau produced, David Attenborough narrated, latest CGI tech, and heavily influenced by leading paleontologists. Created by some of the creators of Planet Earth. This miniseries looks legit for anyone who loves dinosaurs or Planet Earth series
Starts tonight with a new episode every night through Friday

Looks good, may have to take advantage of a free Apple TV offer I just received.

This is how you do it, not Discovery Channel's use of Will Smith in Welcome To Earf.

Started my seven day free trial last night. Specifically wanted to watch this, but also may keep it for a Godzilla series coming in late summer.
* I know dinosaurs existed all over the planet, including the polar regions. Not sure that they endured many frozen nights, as depicted in the trailer and what will be in Jurassic World Dominion. Probably were more migratory and went South during the colder part of the year.

Watched the first episode this morning before work. It was amazing, you can’t even tell you aren’t watching real dinosaurs

Visually spectacular, but I find myself questioning every bit of behavior they ascribe to these dinosaurs. I assume there is evidence for some of these behaviors, but I'm guessing a lot of it is pure speculation.
But it's all being presented as witnessed fact.

The swimming T. Rex was incredible. Not in just how it looked, but it was suggested years ago this could really have happened. If eagles can swim, then surely therapod dinosaurs could as well.

When I saw this, I was surprised and skeptical. So I asked my 10-yr old nephew (who loves T Rex) if T Rex could swim, and he immediately said yes, so it must be true.

Imagine having to tread water in the ocean and just before you make it to shore a fricking T-Rex starts to swim right towards you

He couldn’t do the breast stroke or dog paddle.

Ok I’m not the only one. The whole time I’m watching it, I’m thinking “This is about 95% speculation.”
The series is great, but they present it just like Planet Earth where they have real footage of the behavior.
I get that they can surmise the shape and size of animals, whether they could swim, etc. But some of their distinct characteristics and behavior have to be legit guesses.
I might go to the website later and see if they shed any light on it.

In the original Jurassic Park book there is a good scene when Grant and the kids are on a river raft and get chased by a swimming T-Rex. It was supposed to be in the original movie as well but was cut.

This is awesome. My favorite of these types of shows since the original Planet Earth. There were many times while watching this I actually forgot what I was watching wasn't real. Also, my whole family is enjoying this. Very rare these days.

That's the best dinosaur graphics I have ever seen. So realistic, it's practically indiscernible from what I would imagine really-filmed dinosaur footage would look like.

Look for the bonus content of the swimming T. Rex. (Each ep has a extra few minutes). It didn't need to have webbing like a duck's foot to swim well.
While the imagery is stunning, I'm not completely sold on the authenticity of all the scenes. Not that anyone knows for certain, and the real point is to put dinosaurs in everyday settings to remind us they were living creatures, every bit as what we see in today's eco-systems.
Yes, some smaller theropods had feathers, but in some cases, I think the choice to toss feathers on everything is a bit over dramatic. Time will tell though if there's evidence to support it or not.

I've enjoyed it so far, but there were a few things that made me scratch my head.
On the Freshwater episode when they show the T-Rex and say "His skin is scarred from years of fighting. He even lost the tip of his tail."
Well.. I mean, that's just something you made up
And the series is rated G. The episode with the flying dinosaurs where the male was imitating the female. The male one just walks around and gets up right behind the female, sidles up to her, and bites her neck. The camera pans out and you here their "yelps"

There's 3 'coupling' scenes so far, that I can tell.
Yeah, we get it. Dinos did it Dino style. Geeeze.
As for accuracy, I'll have to go back and rewatch some stuff, but I could have sworn they said Quetzalcoatlus was in S. Africa. Pretty sure its remains are found exclusively in modern N. America.
