How was he to work for

I liked working for him because I felt like he had my back, even if he could be a dickhead (not many head chefs arn't). His recipes were solid and although he might not have been the best cook, he is a great personality. Used to love it when he'd walk into the dining room and start rattling a wine glass with a fork to get everyone's attention. The dude just knew how to entertain and enhance the place with his personality. Opera singers on weekends were cool too.

Well. He already stated he has no desires to go to New Orleans (which is a discussion aside from this one) so people are giving him suggestions to fit his request.

. See what I mean. Andrea got 17 downvotes and only one upvote and that was from me. I know they can be inconsistent but when they are on the Italian food and seafood can be excellent.

Who wants to play Russian Roulette with the cost of restaurant meals these days, though? That’s basically what you’re saying because that’s exactly what Andrea’s IS.

ETA and even if you “hit” and get the rare “on” night food wise, you still get the unbearably dreadful atmosphere no matter what.

I don’t have a vast experience of Metairie restaurants.

Gendusa’s is in beautiful downtown Kenner but I agree it is a very good Italian restaurant.

Churros Cafe on Kingman in Metairie.

Was recently turned on to this place from a friend. Great Cuban food, friendly staff...great weekday lunch spot.

. I didn’t give this as my answer because every time I compliment them on here I get downvoted to death but I love the place.

I haven't been there in a couple years, but prior to that, I found the food to be very good and reasonably priced.

I don't know why they get slammed on here to be honest----unless it's gone way downhill since I was there last.

Shouldn’t Yakuza House be over all these places. Definitely the best thing in Metry by far.

Yakuza is better than all combined

Yakuza House- best sushi in all of new Orleans likely

R&O- one of the best roast beef poboys around

Zocalo- solid offering of Mexican dishes

pho orchid

brassa, kanno, desi, and maybe dragos would fit somewhere in the 5th spot for me.

edit: adding cafe equator which is a pretty solid thai offering.

Lester's trolling. suburbia can have fine eats. He is right that nothing in Metairie except yakuza house will touch top tier NO places though.

They won't win any awards for best atmosphere, but their food is outstanding.
