Get a ruger American hunter with the magpul stock in 308. Alternative is get an American predator and buy the magpul aftermarket, will be the same gun with a slight difference in barrel contour. Will be a joy to shoot off the bench and a perfectly capable hunting rifle. Threaded for a suppressor if you ever go that route, accurate, ergonomic, and reliable in a caliber that never stopped being available. Prettymuch the end all be all of entry level do everything bolt actions.

I’ve been trying to find a non eBay one for months with no luck. I even called magpul and they were more frustrated than I was with the supply chain issues. Considering bell and Carlson or just selling the rifle altogether.

To OP, my ruger American is a quality rifle for the price but trigger and stock leave a lot to be desired. I have several tikkas and love them. However, I despise my ruger m77 30.06. Most frustrating rifle I own by far.
