Suggestions For New Outdoor Grill

In the market for a new outdoor grill. Have had a gas grill in the past, but am intrigued by the idea of a pellet grill. What are your experiences with them and are they worth the higher price tag? Looking to spend no more than $6-700

Totally worth it but do your research and invest in one of the better brands.

If you're going to use it as a grill more than as a smoker I'd get a Recteq Bullseye. I love mine. It does well enough as a smoker but it'll get 8 or 900 degrees. A lot of folks complain about flame ups but if you keep it clean there are no issues. For butts/brisket I put a grease pan in. After cooking chicken or ribs I'll crank it up to riot for a bit to burn off any grease so there's never a lot accumulated to ignite.

looking to grill, smoke or both? I have two weber kettles and a separate electric smoker. I love the charcoal fired weber and ease of an electric smoker is awesome. I use pellets in the smoker, but chips can be used also.

Love my Char-Griller Flavor Pro 4-Burner Gas Grill with Multi-Fuel Flavor Drawer.
Usually use lump charcoal and/or wood chunks or sprinkle some pellets or chips on top, turn propane to low or off once it gets going, saves a ton on gas. Two adjustable chimney vents on top help control heat or for indirect cooking channels the smoke thru the “off” side. Also like the drum design with no back vent crap to retain heat and smoke better.

Pellet Grill > Gas Grill
After Hurricane Laura destroyed my gas grill, I purchased a Pit Boss combo pellet/gas grill. I wanted a pellet grill but I didn't know if I would like it. Fast forward to now and I wish I would have bought a larger pellet only grill. The flavor is better and you can control the heat better. I have owned my grill for a year and half and have never turned on the gas grill. That is how much more I prefer the pellet grill.

PK 360 is what you're looking for. Best grill/smoker I've ever owned.

My Masterbuilt Gravity Series has been great. I didn’t need a anything too large so I got the 560. The 800 comes with a griddle.
You get the ease of a pellet grill, but still have to ability to crank up the heat to sear a nice steak

Lots of options here:
1. Lately myself and a lot of friends have been having a blast with blackstone griddles. But you're limited, it's a griddle, fried rice and steak sandwiches gets old.
2. You have your high end charcoals like Green Egg and PK. Both are cool but they both take forever to use, same problem as a lowly smokey joe.
3. You really can't beat a gas grill when you need hot flame quickly and have to feed a lot of folks.
Right now my fleet is
-webber gas w/ side burner
-weber smokey joe (2) one at camp, one home
-mini-kamado (idiotic don't bother)
-36" blackstone
-weber go-anywhere charcoal (might give/sell)
-brinkman smoker that i love but havent' used in years
-camp chef two burner outdoor stove (love for frying an gumbo, messes)

Santa brought me a Pit Boss and I love it. Before the pellet grill, I never had the time, skill or patience for brisket, ribs, etc, but this thing does an amazing job and is almost foolproof. Highly recommended!
