Demolition starts on Lone Star building on Acadian
Demolition work has started on the Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon building on Acadian Thruway just south of Interstate 10. Stephen D. Kleinpeter is handling the demolition. The restaurant, which closed after it was damaged by a fire earlier this year, is being torn down to make room for the first Baton Rouge location of Coyote Blues, a popular Lafayette restaurant that specializes in fresh Mexican food with a Louisiana flair. C.M. Michiotto & Sons of Lafayette is building the new restaurant, which now is scheduled to open in the spring.

I've heard mixed reviews about the Laffyette location.

No, you can spit on Mestizo's from this locale, and it seems to be mirroring the same concept.

Not really. Mestizo's is about 150 yards away.

Old Urdiales of Mestizo's does a good job at the old Denny's. I like it and at least he is somewhat original.

Plus he has a cool little bar with kick arse margaritas.

His dad had Carlos and his uncle owns El Rio Grande. He had a place on Sherwood prior to moving to Acadian.

Is Carlos still open?

Coyote Blues is not bad. I liked it and I'm not that big a fan of Mexican.
