This is why Saban always waited until later in games to turn it on against us. I remember people always saying “Saban is keeping it close on purpose so we think we’re good.” . Yes, that’s actually true, but not necessarily for the reasons everyone thought. He knew miles would never change his philosophy unless forced. So Saban let him keep doing that to give him no time to adjust. I think we just made some really big plays in 2010 and Saban tried to get it going a little late in the 2011 regular season game.

Then it basically got to the point where they just out muscled us in Miles’ later seasons.

Even in 2013 Saban knew we had a different kind of philosophy so he killed us early. Miles was too predictable.
