Exactly. He was efficient given the structure of the team. Lots of defensive and special teams scoring that year. LSU had the #2 defense that season. It was a Les Miles offense.

Yet it was still behind the times of what was occurring elsewhere in college football. Saban was still fairly conservative offensively back then yet AJ McCarron had more passing yards, a higher completion percentage, more yards per attempt & almost an identical passer rating.
