More likely that in the next few years they’ll be back at Shaw (our best friends btw) or at Karr

They could have hired Manale from DLS if they were serious about competing. Salt ain’t it

But now Manale is at Jesuit and will create another sustainable power like Rummel. Catholic league is on notice

Holy Cross is a lower tier NOLA catholic school. They only win state in sports in which they are in the lower classification. Will never seriously compete in football. Salt is a shite coach who is way way way way out of his league in the catholic league. He got lucky when he won state title.

They already tried to make their big run eating into Brother Martins enrollment when they moved to Gentilly and Brother Martin simply stepped up their game and crushed Holy Cross. Now Holy Cross is back where they were pre Katrina and pretty much considered a joke again. Jesuit and Brother Martin will get the majority of the kids they want. Everyone else will fight over the rest.

Supossedly he also told Salt that with his reputation that he expects a district championship within 2 years.

Uhh, did someone tell the Colonel that HC has a 4A enrollment and is playing up to 5A?

Holy Cross has a capped enrollment and for the high school it is full, you are talking out of your arse

Jesuit
BM
Hc / Rummel

In this order. If you think HC is on the same level on the first 2, you are crazy

what Rummel was doing

I'm not exactly sure if that's the program I would want to emulate right now. They are struggling in many ways.

start peeling off Bro. Martin's Gentilly and 7th ward pipeline.

They have been trying this for over a decade. The reality is those kids don't want what HC is selling.

We can't count on St Bernard anymore.

Yup. They have priced themselves out of the vast majority of the market, along with the fact that if kids are going to travel to the new campus, they might as well travel to Jesuit or Bro Mart. The appeal of HC to St. Bernard was how close it was.

Sounds like HC hired an outside consultant who has no idea what is the actual situation on the ground.

I'm not over here ranking schools, just pointing out that whatever MetrySaint thinks is factually incorrect

If this is true then WTF are they doing playing up to 5A?

Did them going down all the way to Kinder really hurt them that much in so far as space availability? I thought the little kids were on a different campus, so if they didn't built enough capacity for middle / high, then that's on them.

It’s all about tradition… things have just changed around them. The Catholic league they were in didn’t have John Curtis and Karr. It was more of a Catholic League and less of an all-star league

I imagine that desire of tradition is being driven by the alumns... the same ones who pushed to have this outsider brought in.

This will get interesting. HC will not be consistently successful in 5A. So either tradition matters more than winning, and they will stay in 5A in two years when the classes are re-done, or, they will drop down to 4A and probably find success.

They have been playing up since the 80’s

The primary school is a separate campus. The new campus was built with an enrollment cap in mind. The school was never intended to have a 5A enrollment and likely never will, again by design

Let me guess, the new headmaster is the one who moved the Chalmette Holy Cross game to Tad Gormley this upcoming fall… CHS had hosted it every time for the past 40 years

Initially they put out a tweet that CHS dropped the game and as you can guess I flipped and started texting people

really? I am not a fan of that move. I look forward to my trip down to the parish. we always rent out the Sicilian room at Rocky's that day

I don't know much about the new guy, haven't met him yet, but not a fan of what I have been hearing

In that district they could be 0-6 and still top 25 in the state
