Barbe beat Destrehan 8-3 in Game 1 last night. 1-0 Barbe.

St Amant beat Live Oak 3-1 in Game 1 last night. 1-0 STA.

Parkway with a Game 1 upset over Zachary 6-5. 1-0 PHS.

Central gets a 6-2 victory over Haughton in Game 1. 1-0 CHS.

And West Monroe beats Comeaux 3-2 in 8 innings, in a Game 1 thriller. 1-0 WM.

Sulphur/Acadiana, Dutchtown/Ponchatoula, and Sam Houston/Ruston kick off their series today. One game today, and possibly two on Sunday for all three of these series. Wonder why they decided to do Saturday-Sunday series, instead of a Friday-Saturday series.

West Fel completes sweep of Westlake. Won 6-3 last night and blew the doors off today 18-0. Got a little chippy I understand.

Hoping Z can come back w two wins today vs Parkway.

So for today in 5A.

Barbe beats Destrehan 6-0 to win the series 2-0. Will play St Amant in the quarterfinals.

St Amant beats Live Oak 5-2 to win the series 2-0. Will play Barbe in the quarterfinals.

Zachary beat Parkway 4-1 in 9 innings, to force a Game 3. Series tied 1-1; Zachary then defeats Parkway 4-3, in Game 3, to take the series. Awaits the winner of Sulphur and Acadiana. Sounds like this was a heck of a series.

Sulphur run ruled Acadiana 10-0 in 5. Sulphur leads series 1-0. Game 2 tomorrow at 1.

Dutchtown rallies to avoid an upset in Game 1, as they defeat Ponchatoula 4-3. Dutchtown up in the series 1-0. Game 2 tomorrow at 1.

Central beats Haughton 6-2, once again, to win the series 2-0. They’ll play the winner of the Dutchtown/Ponchatoula series.

Sam Houston beat Ruston 7-3 today in Game 1. Sam Houston leads the series 1-0.

West Monroe with a much less stressful game today, as they defeat Comeaux 8-1, to win the series 2-0. They’ll await the winner of the Sam Houston/Ruston series.
