My husband bought something that looks like this. I would never empty tjhe skimmers because I hated putting my hand in there not knowing what else might be in there besides leaves

Just ordered, maybe the wife and kids will empty skimmers with this

I have this, but for extra sketchy situations (if I know a snake is in there), I have a 2 ft. piece of chain with a hook on the end to grab the handle of the skimmer angel and pull it out.

That’s what I have. Gotta knock the spiders off of the handle and the good to go lol

I have these and like them, but I have at least one spider on the top of the handle (right where you grab it) just about every time I check them. The spiders get on there to keep from drowning in the skimmer. If you just kind of quickly flick the handle it's pretty easy to knock them off so you can grab the handle, but just something to be aware of.
