That looks like an extended reach forklift not boom lift. Probably tried picking to much weight outside of the safe zone charts that are usually provided in the cab. Those tires are way too big for a boom lift and the fact that it’s JCB makes me 95% certain it’s a tellehandler

AH! Memories of NOLA. The people we were going to use provided us with a copy of their workman's comp insurance. I called the company who said:

That policy isn't valid
That page has been altered
We last insured them fifteen years ago.

Louisiana workmsn's Comp is a mess, but we know now that that company is providing falsified certificates.

The dude at sunbelt is in a lotta trouble too. They verify insurance before renting their equipment (or they’re supposed to).

Any Joe blow can rent equipment if they have money. They don’t need insurance for that

Two thirds of the "Triangle of Business".

Picture a triangle. At each point is a word- fast, cheap, good. You can only pick two...

Sunbelt may not be responsible but they sure as hell will be liable. Their insurance company won’t even put up a fight unless the property owners get greedy.

I doubt he opted for the insurance on the rental.

I’m fairly certain there’s no waiving the rental insurance on those. We rent stuff a lot cheaper (lifts) and we either have to get it or show proof.

Correct. You can see the forks in the third picture.

Most likely scenario is Randall’s will go bankrupt, fold, and reopen as Randal’s Tree Service with a clean slate.

That’s what’s so aggravating about something like this. This will happen. Book it.

Word to the wise from experience. If they show you a card you better call it. Only takes one payment to get the card. But doesnt mean they are up to date.

Why would you hire a tree trimming company that had to rent equipment to perform their basic job? Should have been the first red flag here. Other than too, at any point you can look up in Louisiana and see if someone is insured.

I’m sure that shed wasn’t properly permitted anyway and needed to be taken down.
