OP is upset that the PA announcer didn’t tell people what to do such that it matched OP’s personal preference. OP is free to shout at people to stand up, if he would like.

Stand, sit, be mad about people sitting, be mad about people standing. Be mad about people not asking other people to stand. Do whatever you want. It’s a free country.

But don’t expect it to be a law. You can’t force people to worship anything. And don’t expect people to listen to you or care. Because that’s the same courtesy you give. Freedom is a wonderful thing,
