A Clockwork Orange was an excellent film, but it would have been even better if it had followed the ending of the book.
I would change Layer Cake, so the nameless main character (Daniel Craig) doesn't get shot at the end and basically fulfills all of his goals, as he expected.

Technically, it did follow the American version of the novel and the novel that was originally published. But, I agree.
Also, No Country for Old Men. I liked the ending, but I wish they would have added a little bit more of Tommy Lee Jones' voiceover throughout to clarify the ending. They didn't even mention the fact that in the book, he was a war-coward in his own eyes.
