Lets call a spade a spade. This team defensively is what they are. It was not emphasized by this staff and it is abundantly obvious. Not saying it can’t improve some, but there won’t be some magical improvement overnight.

Out of all aspects of a baseball team defense is the most fixable IMO.

Lol! Alright maybe I exaggerated a little bit but my point was we are not a very good team. Defense, starting pitching, and the inability to hit good pitching is really showing.

While I don't think it will happen with this team, this is a stupid thing to say.

Ask the 2008 squad about it.

The 2017 squad didn’t really get rolling until the last few sec series of the season. They hovered around .500 in sec play until then

You’re right. Good teams never slump. Good teams hold other good teams to only 3 runs. Not 4.

Everyone just relax. If pitching holds the current state, we will make a run.

Although pitching is a bit rocky, they’ve held their own. The bats have killed us this weekend. OP is trying to say we have a strong lineup and the bats will turn on.

It’s baseball…not lining up 350 pound dudes and running at eachother.

I agree that this team could be really tough in the post season. The defense will improve, but it will always be bad. These guys are not just making mistakes, they re also not making great plays. That won’t get better.

This pitching staff is built for tournaments, especially the SEC. And the hitting will start to dominate when the season gets on and the arms are getting tired.

We could easily make a good run, but sooner or later our defense will eliminate us.

We don’t need them to make great plays. We just need them to make throws in the same area code as first base. That’s a confidence issue and we’re so close to that turning around.

I agree with what you say about the pitching staff.

This team will make a super at a minimum

2008 team clicked and won twenty something in a row. 2017 clicked at the end of the season. Teams absolutely click and go on runs.

Nah, you need at least one dominant starter in a tournament setting, else you are fricked because your arms are tired if you have to play 4 or 5 games.

Maybe so, but my point is that our infield isn’t just making mental mistakes, they are also not very good.

Or you win a game you aren’t supposed to because a guy surprised you on the mound and we do the damn thing.

They can be good enough. That’s all I’m saying. We just need to hide Berry. And Thompson sometimes. Just get consistency on normal plays.

Based on what?

So you want to hide the left side of the infield?

So if you ever played sports, or live life without a mask on at all times, you understand that things happen to some people and they can work out if it with time and repetitions.

If you wanna give up. Just do it. Don’t make a show of it.

This is so weak.
