My thought as well. I didn’t want to start a thread so I’ll post here. So I looked at it, he’s the last and only uncommitted prospect in the top 100 or so. This one threw me way off. Top 3 is, Florida, UGA, and LSU. I looked into it and everybody is favoring Florida here, but I think it’s interesting we randomly jumped in. Maybe Matt is making a last minute push, and we land him. 247, as well as ON4 have this guy as a top 50 overall kid. I thought we were out of spots? Maybe with NIL that 13 cap doesn’t mean all that much and we can have a guy who “isn’t on scholarship” but his tuition etc. everything is paid for.

Yea I just find it interesting that a kid that highly rated would come out of nowhere and put a school with no scholarships available in his top 3......

So makes me think smthg is definitely going on

We must just be a hat on the table. No open spots left, and this guy has never been mentioned before the last few days.

All indications are Riley Kugel is going to Univ of Florida. Let’s hope we can land him but with no scholarships left, it will

There's two kids in New Orleans listed on the ESPN 100 for 2023. #71 Corey Chest, 6'8" 210 lb 4 star PF at McMain HS and #83 Chris Lockett, 6'4" 205 lb 4 star SF at Newman HS. 247 has him as a shooting guard

Lockett had LSU in his top 5 like
The day after Wade was fired and Corey chest loves mcmahon

Both Jones and Wade landed a high Louisiana 4 star

Jones-Jarell Martin
Wade-Javonte Smart

We will see if mcmahon will do the same

Taylor Bowen from Vermont has LSU in his final 6 and is announcing June 25th

Not sure how good of a spot we are in

Top 6 are Duke, Iowa, Vermont, LSU, providence, and Florida state

Probably going to be Providence, in on it too late. But very very encouraging to see LSU in on a guy like this. For 3 huge reasons.

1. Brewster Academy (NH) is a prep powerhouse that has produced guys like Donovan Mitchell, TJ Warren, Thomas Robinson and Will Barton to name a few. Shows McMahon reaching out even further than the Mid-Atlantic.
2. A guy that could very well be in the portal after one year that has a ton of potential.
3. LSU to be in the Top-6 really Top-4 is pretty good in a month and a half, beat out schools like Kansas, Kentucky, and Memphis. Now I am not naive to think that Kentucky pursued him all that hard but Kansas sure did, just looks like he wanted to commit sooner and Kansas has higher players on their board they will wait on.

Yep good sport for him given his length and what he could develop into defensively.

Apparently coach McMahon offered Andrej Stojakovic, the son of Peja Stojakovic. 4 star 6'7" forward.

Awesome. That kid is very talented and you know he can shoot.

I was hoping they'd get in the running for him after seeing some of his highlights

Hopefully the early offer pays off. Expect more west coast names offer him. But the shooting is great. The balance he has with the knees slightly pointing in puts some pressure on the hips and reminds me of his dad. I’m guessing he’s a future 6”10 too.

Get the NIL ready ??
