I agree, but why did Miles decide to go with two DC's? I know we shouldn't judge him, but it is a mistake. This is not the same defense, yet we have the same coaches and most of the same players. I know we lost a lot of leadership, but if all of the recruits are good, they should step right in. It will depend on how the team rebounds against USC. If we have the same issues and lose or win by a small margin, then I think we are in trouble.

The word on the street is that Miles wanted Muschamp and tried to get him here, but Muschamp declined because it really would have been a step back for WM. I'm not sure if Mallory/Peveto was Plan B per se (they very well could have been Plan F for all we know), but they certainly weren't Miles' top choice. To me, this emphasizes the point that Miles knows what he's doing and at least tried to go out and get a proven DC, which at least makes me feel better in the sense that if Peveto/Mallory don't work out, Miles won't be afraid to go out and fix the problem if needed.
For right now, though, Give em time, maybe they'll grow into the role like Pelini did.
