Yeah no. Nukes aren’t on the table for Kiev.

You don’t necessarily have to nuke someone or do street to street fighting if you can deny them resources and starve them out.

They could siege Kiev directly or they can starve the city and country of money, food, oil, etc.

No, he will not. A tactical nuke guarantees NATO will enter the conflict and that is not what he wants.

The Russians are keeping the troops tied up near Kiev with the fake invasion of the city preventing the Ukrainian troops from moving east to support the Dombas region. Manuever warfare. The West knows exactly what the Russians are up to although they spout idiocy on CNN.

A yarn brought to you by the same people who swore Hunter's Laptop was Russian disinformation, and Michael Avenatti was a truth broker.

Could...but tactically, they can just launch 30-40 conventional weapons on them.

It's a tactical trap either way.

Firstly, Ukrainian forces following a Russian retreat NW and NE of Kyiv wouldn’t be concentrated like you’re suggesting. Secondly, why use tactical nukes at this point against forward deployed troops? If they are to be used it would be to take out a fixed large target such as a well protected base or a strategic fortified area with say a geographic bottleneck.

Russia screwed up stretching out their forces in an unprecedented manner and now they are reallocating to the East to create a more reasonable concentrated front in the Donbass and possibly near Sumy and Kharkiv. That is why they are withdrawing.

What was the provocation? A sovereign country seeking protection from a former oppressive nation?

The withdrawal is part of negotiations, so everything you just said is wrong

There is a solid contingency here who believe that a sovereign nation exercising its own foreign policy preferences is legitimate provocation for Russia to invade. It’s all NATO’s fault because Ukraine wanted to join, and since James Baker told Gorbachev in the early 90’s that NATO wouldn’t expand eastward, Russia is justified in lashing out until the end of time. After all, remember that Russia has a legitimate right to dictate policy to all former Soviet republics and satellite states.
