I’ll throw some love on Black Summer. It’s a good single with a really good John solo.

I think it's a fine song and it works well as a single.

I hope they record as much as possible while John is still interested. This may be the last run we see of the band, which will end when John gets burned out again.

The whole record is getting better with each listen. The first time it all seemed to run together as I was listening semi-casually.

On the SXM RHCP pop-up channel they’re now running, Anthony plays the whole record with a little intro to each song. That got me a little more into certain songs, and now listening closer I’m really getting into it. Some really good songs that just simply couldn’t happen without John. I liked a lot of The Getaway but it’s just not the same without John.

The Heavy Wing feels like Frusciante saying, "hey mother frickers, I'm back."

Kinda uncharacteristic playing for him too. Most of it is just him hitting single notes rather than constantly hitting them to draw it out.

The arpeggios on Whatchu Thinkin are another new one from him.

Sounds like he may have ditched the jubilee on this one. His cleans sound amazing and the fuzz on Black Summer is pure sex.

It’s really difficult to come up with a top four tracks in my opinion. Really good effort from the band.

Totally agree. The stretch on the album from the great apes through The heavy wing is incredible. Can't pick a favorite yet. Although, it's only natural is stuck on my mind constantly

saying add 1 person to handle extra stuff that's in their songs already that they simply can't do with a 4 piece.

Just bring someone in for Dosed and I'm good.

Well thanks to this board I am totally on board with this album. Long time RHCP fan but wasn't a fan of the first single. Now after reading thru this and listening to the album a few times as well as the SXM channel, it IS a great album. Could they replace FF for JazzFest? They're not doing NO on current tour but I'm sure they will tour for 2+ years on this album.

Just listened to about half of the album. Never been a real big RHCP fan.

This album is outstanding so far!!

Flea really brings the heat on “Aquatic Mouth Dance”

Black Summer is a great opening track.

Looking forward to many more listens.

One or two shows. I don't THINK John ever did it live.

This would be amazing if it happened. The chili peppers and FF have always been super close friends. Taylor Hawkins was The god father of Chad smith’s son.

Correct- maybe a few times, but never with Frusciante.
