Great trip. Their campus and stadium was very nice. The Gator fans for the most part were friendly and respectful. A few did some bragging, but I reminded them about the Gay, Lesbian, and Transsexual Parade Banner that was flying over West University, and that squelched the bragging. Seemed the McCain/Palin supporters out numbered the Obama supporters about 5 to 1.

On, the game:

We can't seem to get the defensive calls in and the mass substitution packages seems to be causing a tremendous amount of confusion. Wasted 1 time out on D in 2nd half as a result. One play in the 2nd quarter on the north end Chad Jones turned to the other players for clarification on a signal and then shrugged his shoulders. He apparently did not know what the call was. Also, Chad Jones played about 1 out of 3 defensive plays, at times 1 out of 2. He's the best athlete on the field. Can't figure out why he is not in on most every defensive play.

So, is Co-defensive coordinators a good idea? Last night was reminiscant of Tepper.

On Jarret Lee, I think he did fair for a freshman on the road in Gainesville. To be realistic, I can't remember a team winning a championship w/ a freshman QB. He was under heavy pressure every play and did make some very good plays. Definite potential to be a star in this league.

Florida's defense had tremendous push and thier dbacks were all over the place. They flew to the ball very fast. There was huge difference between their speed and ours, in their favor.

Honestly, the reason they walked away with a W is because FL wanted a win more than we did. The rankings had nothing to do with it. Our D played like absolute dog shite. Our O didn't look all that bad to be honest, but the D didn't let them see the field at all. We made a lot of mistakes, really stupid mistakes that we CAN fix before USC next weekend. But it just comes down to the fact that UF wanted it more than we did. With that kind of drive, it doesn't matter if your record's 0-11 or if you have 11 Heisman trophy winners on your team, you can beat anyone

cool to hear some perspective from someone at the game. i dont know exactly how to feel about the co-d coordinators, i just know SOMETHING needs fixing. mainly in the secondary. i think lee will come into his own as well ... just not sure he will be anything special this year.

We had a great experience too. We even went out to The Swamp (bar) and Gator City afterward and only had a few rude things said to us, by far the majority were cool. I guess in a beating like that, they feel sorry for you (similar to when we beat the poo out of VT).

I'd go back to see a game there anyday. It was a blast, minus the on the field.

Wow, you stopped their bragging with bigotry. How creative.

You may have seen the McCain-Palin signs in town for the game, but this town is full of bedwetting libbies like the town of Chapel Hill, NC. I argue with these clowns everyday. There are alot of people here who hate conservatives/republicans.
The town is so liberal, we even have a law that sez transgendered can use the bathroom of their choice.
Lots of socialists and commies in town also.

This was the point when frustration took over. They converted a long 3rd down, and we were mentally out of the game from this point on.
