Calling a Contractor to Let Him Know You Won’t be Using Them?

I had a few guys come out and give me quotes on removing some trees.

Would you call the guy back you aren’t going with to let them know you won’t be using their services?
Contractors on this board, would you want someone to do this?


Also, on a side note, one guy quoted $3400. The other guy quoted $2000. I was pretty shocked at the major difference.
ETA: Both licensed arborists.

I'd just wait to see if he calls back. If he does, just say you've decided to go with someone else.

The contractor might have bid high because he really didn’t want the job

I called two different companies to have a large old water oak removed from my yard. One quoted me 9500 and the other came in under 5000. I about shite a the first quote, couldn't call the second quick enough
