Was it just me or did Peveto look in a panic?

I've never seen our coaches look so unsure during a game. What is up with the defensive coaches? Anybody else notice this?

Bradley Dale was definitely discombobulated last night.

This will throw all your players out of sorts. Maybe this is why we looked so jittery.

Definitely had a bit of the brook trout look.

He did and so did Miles. Miles needs to seriously re-consider this co-DC arrangement.

Yes I noticed that as well. There was a couple of times there where he most surely had that deer in the headlights look on his face.

It wasn't a good sign when we had to call a timeout because we were running defensive players off the field. After the timeout was called the players were obviously pissed and weren't hiding it (waiving their arms in the air at the coaches, yelling at them, etc.).
In my opinion, there is no excuse to give up 44 points to anyone in a regulation game, even if their average starting field position is the 40 yardline.

I feel Miles knows exactly what is going on with his coaching staff. And his staff knows they better get it corrected fast or a new DC coach is coming in.

we do have a new sheriff in town with our AD. for some reason if we drop sc and georgia. I would start to put feelers out

With all due respect and this is not intended as a "flame" but many have said this the entire season. How many times have we seen players out of position and assignments missed? Too many for this time of the season. I know we have a lot of new players but Florida started, I believe, 2 freshmen DB's and played a lot young players themselves and they played very well.
We need a DC with the same "attack" or "seek and destroy" mentality of the past.

Just watch Bama play defense this year and see if you don't get flashbacks to '03. Disguised coverages and swarming blitzes coming from everywhere. It is a glaring problem right now but I believe Miles will handle it.

I have always hoped that the reason Miles decided to hire from within was to keep the same terminology and philosophy for continuity reasons rather than bringing in someone who would change things up. That's the only reason I can think of as to why he didn't pursue Muschamp or Tenuta.
One thing Crowton did upon arriving was to learn the current terminology so the players wouldn't have to make the adjustment. That helped tremendously last season. My bet is Miles used that as a model for success.

I'm with you. We are getting no pressure on the QB, and can't seem to cover to save our lives at times.

we haven't had a swarming D since the former coach left. Even though Pelini is gone, his scheme lives on in Both Mallory and Peveto. Pelini was never able to defend the spread effectively while at LSU and from the looks of it, the same holds true at Nebraska (see last week's Mizzou game)

Agree. Was the promotion from within of Peveto and Mallory similar to DiNardo's promotion of Bob MacConnell to offensive coordinator? As I reall, MacConnell didn't even want the job. I don't know if Peveto and/or Mallory wanted the promotion ... I assume the younger Mallory did.
If Miles decides to hire a proven d-coordinator in the off-season, what would happen to Peveto and Mallory ... would they accept demotions, or would they leave? Should the fans care?

It seems Chad Jones "big play style" has disappeared under the new way defensive plays are called.
