Paycheck was more than what it should've been. If I let it roll there's a good chance they'll never know. What would the OT do?
For reference, the check was 30% bigger than what it should've been.

Someone will find out. Don't spend it.

30% of $1k or 30% of 10k?

Nope.

They can auto withdraw it back as well so don’t transfer it or spend it. If you move it and they pull it back you will likely get an overdraft charge.

Put it into an interest bearing account just pay it back if they ever ask. Profit.
That’s what I do with all of my shady IRS tax returns.

Call payroll and ask what is up. This also happened to me where I got like 20 times what I usually get each check. They said it was an accident, they did it with multiple people's paychecks and eventually took back the overage from my account.

invest the difference of what it should have been and what it was......and when they come back looking for it, hopefully you invested it wisely.

If they over pay you they will catch it, may 6 months or year but they will catch it and you to pay them back. But, if they under pay you, you have to fight with them to get your money.

When they balance everything, it’ll all lead back to you. They’ll take it out of your next check

Two thoughts. One- it could be a test....pay it back.
Two - it is not honest made money....pay it back.

you already know what the right thing to do is. If you choose not to do it, I hope they fire you

Your next check will be 30% lower..

Do the right thing. Tell them, regardless of the amount.

That is the correct amount from the newly installed St. Patrick's day bonus. Your neighbors will be green, with envy.

Three jobs ago, my wife got two extra paychecks after her final payout. She stayed quiet after the first, and notified them after the 2nd. The checks stopped coming after that but they never tried to get it back.
She worked in IT for Hyatt, so even though she was paid well it probably wasn't even a blip on the radar for a company that big.
