Opthalmology is as real a doctor as a cardiologist.

Yall do realize I know this right?

Rand Paul is an actual doctor.

Olbermann is being an a-hole and trying to appeal to his low info base by suggesting he isn't because of his field.

“You’re not a doctor so you can’t criticize him!”

“O RLY?”

Olbermann has no idea Fauci is an administrator with no history of practicing medicine - basically a researcher who gave up to be an admin.

Covid doesn’t affect your eyes. This is every bit as stupid as saying go ahead and go to a cardiologist if you get cataracts. Cataract surgery is the most common type of surgery. Yes, they are doctors and you don’t want someone who isn’t properly medically trained operating on your eyes. It’s pretty easy to frick up eye surgery.

What organs do you prize more than your eyes? Maybe the brain and that’s it? Sorry to any blind people reading this, but I’d personally rather die than be blind.

liver, heart, brain, pancreas, stomach, kidney, and a few other specific portions of the GI tract.
being blind would be a walk in the park (albeit with the white cane) compared to trying to live without any of those.

Ummm, you can live without that just fine as millions of people do.

I’d honestly rather do daily dialysis than be blind.

I honestly wouldn't doubt that Olberman isn't aware that Paul is a doctor.

From what I understand, Fauci has never treated a patient in his life. Rand, on the other hand, routinely goes to 3rd world countries, and performs eye surgery for free.

As a man, I would go to a gynocolgist for covid, before I'd take advice from Fauci! That dude doesn't practice, and has flip-flopped as much as anyone on Earth!

I remember when I used to love Olberman--- when he was on SportsCenter. Haven't cared for him since.

So an Ophthalmologist should probably shut up about it.

millions more people live even finer being blind.

while you can live without it, its not just fine. without a pancreas you have diabetes, lifelong monitoring and medication. this is a big risk factor for tons of terrible problems. not to mention issues with digestion and handling alcohol. infections can spring you into life threatening metabolic dysregulation.

well to each their own, although this also provides significant medical risks.

but yea theres still like 8 organs more important than the eyes, and I dont even think I mentioned lungs before either haha

A non-MD telling an MD to shut up about something in medicine. Anyone else notice the irony here?
