He was an incredible player, second all time in wickets taken (comparable to strkeouts in baseball, sorta).

"Spinning" as a bowling technique (kind of like a knuckleball pitcher) had nearly become extinct, he brought it back and now a good portion of bowlers are now spinners, changing the entire sport.

On the flip side, suspicions of juicing, gambling, drinking, and the man loved to party. Dated Elizabeth Hurley and Emily Sears for a while, couple of years ago the police were called to his place for a disturbance.....him, his girlfriend and TWO hookers....the man liked to party.

RIP he was a good one, he arrived in heaven on an empty tank, bald tires, a cigarette in one and and a beer in the other.....saying that was one heck of a ride.

Cricket seems like a really awesome sport. I spent several years as a rep for a fuel distribution company and would often watch for a few minutes with the Indian store owners who were very passionate about it.
